Auf was muss ich beim Kauf von Diamanten beachten? Hier ist der Leitfaden für die 4 C's der Diamanten

The 4C's of Diamonds

Diamonds have always inspired humanity with their timeless beauty and the promise of eternal durability. The variety of their shapes and designs is as unique as the moments they enhance. But regardless of their origin, every diamond is judged according to the universal criteria of the 4 Cs: carat, color, clarity and cut.
This guide will walk you through the 4C's of diamonds and show you how our lab diamonds impress in every detail while honoring the earth's heritage. Find out which color and clarity grade is the best, which diamond cuts there are and whether the carat number really is the only thing that matters.

Carat - carat, the measure of weight

Carat has its roots in ancient times. At that time, traders needed a reliable method to determine the weight of gemstones. They chose the seeds of the carob tree, called "keration" in Greek, because of their remarkably uniform size and weight. These small seeds were so reliably similar that they became an early form of a weight standard. Over time, the term "carat" evolved. Today, a carat represents a weight of exactly 0.2 grams. This international standard helps us objectively compare the size of gemstones, although carat alone does not tell the entire story of a diamond. The history of our craft has shown that while carat weight is meaningful, it is not the only characteristic that determines the value and beauty of a diamond. We make it a point to ensure that every diamond - big or small - impresses not only with its weight, but also with its origin, processing and adherence to ethical standards. In our selection of diamonds – from the luminous melee diamonds to the impressive large solitaires – each carat weight not only represents the size and weight of the gemstone, but is also a promise of ethical origin and environmentally friendly processing.
For round brilliant cuts we offer a certificate confirming authenticity and quality from 0.3 carats, and for fancy cuts this certification starts from 0.5 carats.

Color - The color or rather the tint

In the diamond world, color is a crucial quality characteristic that largely determines the aesthetic appeal of a diamond. The color of a diamond is rated using a letter scale that ranges from absolutely colorless diamonds, classified as 'D color', to stones with slight hues that are ranked further down the alphabet.

The color scale for diamonds:

Our range includes only diamonds from the top segment of this scale, DF. Diamonds in categories D, E and F are almost or completely colourless. These coveted stones reflect light in its purest form and thus radiate an exceptional brilliance. The colourlessness underlines their rarity and quality and highlights the craftsmanship with which each diamond was cut to unleash the maximum fire and brilliance. When you choose a diamond from us, you can be sure of receiving a stone of the highest colour quality that is not only visually impressive, but also reflects our commitment to sustainable luxury.
How important is color in diamonds and how does color influence the quality and appearance of a diamond?

The color of a diamond plays a crucial role in determining its overall quality and appearance. Colorless or nearly colorless diamonds are considered particularly valuable because they reflect light optimally, creating exceptional brilliance and intense sparkle. Color affects how vibrant and radiant the diamond appears and can therefore significantly influence the overall appearance of a piece of jewelry. In our range, we therefore only offer diamonds in the best color categories D to F to ensure that our customers receive jewelry of the highest optical quality and breathtaking beauty.

Clarity - The Purity

The purity of a diamond, also called clarity, is a crucial criterion that defines the uniqueness and quality of each stone. Purity refers to the presence of inclusions or imperfections in a diamond. These arise during the growth process (in lab-grown diamonds and also in conventionally mined diamonds in the mines) and give each stone an individual character. Most of these inclusions are microscopic and barely visible to the naked eye. These inclusions are like fingerprints: they make each diamond unique. A diamond is classified as "flawless" if it has no visible inclusions under ten times magnification. These flawless stones are extremely rare and therefore particularly valuable.
How important is the clarity of a diamond?
In our collection, we attach great importance to the purity of the diamonds. We offer diamonds that are classified at least as VS (Very Small Inclusions) to VVS (Very Very Small Inclusions). This means that inclusions, if present at all, are so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. These minimal imperfections can only be seen under 10x magnification, for example with a jeweler's loupe. With such purity levels, our diamonds guarantee breathtaking clarity and radiance that optimally captures and reflects the light. The result is an impressive brilliance and liveliness of the diamond, which makes every piece of jewelry a real eye-catcher. Choosing a diamond with high purity is not just a question of aesthetics, but also a sign of quality. With a diamond from us, you can be sure that you own a piece that impresses both visually and qualitatively.

Cut - The diamond cut:

The cut of a diamond is crucial to its fire and sparkle. It's not just about the shape, but also the proportions and finish of the stone. A good cut catches the light and reflects it at every angle. We offer a range of precision cut shapes including oval, brilliant and pear, all designed to bring out the maximum brilliance and beauty.
Our lab-grown diamonds represent not only modern luxury, but also a commitment to a better future. Experience incomparable brilliance and purity with a clear conscience.
